Gamelan Barasvara & Polyphème: Tradition and Contemporaneity of Balinese Gamelan

This concert presents a fascinating dialogue between the ancient traditions and contemporary creation of Balinese Gamelan music. The program combines historical repertoires with modern works that explore new rhythmic, sonic, and choreographic languages. Through this performance, the Gamelan is presented as both a deeply rooted cultural expression and a living, evolving art form. In the first part, the Gamelan Barasvara ensemble, resident at the Barcelona Music Museum, will interpret emblematic pieces that bridge the gap between past and present.
