About

In 1983, the feminist magazine COURAGE noted that approaching Helga Goetze seemed impossible, yet published an interview with the woman who stood by the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church as an elderly woman, shouting the word 'fuck' at passersby. This exhibition explores the life of the then 61-year-old Goetze, who established herself as an inevitable disruptive factor in 1980s West Berlin. Through provocative actions and near-daily vigils at Breitscheidplatz, she challenged social norms. The exhibition offers a compelling look at her legacy as a radical feminist and a persistent, loud voice in the city's public sphere.
