About
Once a grand middle-class summer residence and now a vibrant community cultural center, the Schwartzsche Villa has a storied 125-year history. This exhibition explores the past through a collection of vintage photographs, original architectural drawings, and reproduced documents. It tells the story of the Schwartz banking family, who commissioned the house between 1895 and 1897. Visitors will also gain insight into the building's transformation after 1945 and the complex journey it took to become the cultural landmark it is today.
